Terms of service

more plz is operated by Makeshft Inc. By creating an account, you agree to these terms and the Privacy policy. If you only browse, these terms still apply to how you use the site.

  • Your ratings and reviews stay yours.
  • You must be 16 or older.
  • We don’t remove a review because it’s negative.
  • You keep your right to go to court. No forced arbitration.
  • Our liability is capped at $100.

1 Who can use it

You must be 16 or older. When you sign up, you confirm that you are. If you aren’t, don’t use more plz.

more plz is built for people in the United States. It isn’t offered in the EU, EEA or UK.

2 Your account and handle

Keep your sign in details safe. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.

Your handle is yours to use, not to hoard. Don’t grab handles to hold them, and don’t pick one to impersonate a person or a business. We may reclaim or change a handle that does. We’ll email you unless that would be unsafe or unlawful. Reply to that email or write to privacy@moreplz.com to ask us to look again. When you release a handle, it stays reserved for 90 days before anyone else can take it.

3 Your content

Your ratings, reviews, lists and photos stay yours.

You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, use, copy, adapt and display your content to run the service. That includes computing matches, showing it on your public profile and in cards you choose to share, and sending it to the providers that help us run the service. The license ends when you delete the content or your account. Two things outlast it: backups, which expire within 7 days, and copies that other people or other services already made.

We don’t run ads, and we won’t use your name or content to promote more plz without asking you first. We don’t train AI on your content, and neither does the AI provider we use.

You’re responsible for what you post. We don’t verify reviews.

4 Community rules

  • Only rate places you’ve been. Don’t rate a place you own, work for, are related to, or compete with. No fake, paid or incentivized ratings, and none written for you by someone who hasn’t been. We may remove ratings that break these rules.
  • No harassment, and nothing unlawful or knowingly false.
  • Don’t scrape the service, probe it for weaknesses, or use it to build a competing dataset.

We don’t remove a review because it’s negative. We remove content that breaks these rules or that the law requires us to remove. To report something, email privacy@moreplz.com.

5 Restaurant info and Google Maps

Restaurant details come from Google and from our users. They can be wrong or out of date. Check before you go.

Maps, photos and place details come from Google and may belong to Google or its contributors. Don’t scrape, copy or export them, or use them to build another service or dataset. By using maps and place details, you also agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. We don’t endorse any restaurant.

6 Copyright

If something on more plz infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent:

Makeshft Inc
447 Sutter St, Ste 506 - 1383
San Francisco, CA 94108
(510) 823-0266
privacy@moreplz.com

A notice must include:

  • Your name, address, phone number and email.
  • A description of the copyrighted work, or a representative list if there are several works.
  • Where the material appears, such as a link.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn’t authorized by the owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you own the work or are authorized to act for the owner.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Knowingly sending a false notice can make you liable for damages. We remove content that is the subject of a valid notice and tell the person who posted it.

If you posted content we removed and think that was a mistake, send a counter-notice to the same agent. It must include:

  • Identification of the removed material and where it appeared.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the United States, any district where we may be found), and to accept service from the complainant.
  • Your name, address and phone number.
  • Your signature.

We forward the counter-notice to the complainant. We restore the content 10 to 14 business days after receiving it, unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action. We end the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

7 Changes, suspension and ending

We may change the service or these terms. For material changes, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the app. You can delete your account before then. If you keep using the service after that date, the new terms apply.

You can stop at any time by deleting your account in Settings. Deleting your account removes your data from the live service right away. Some copies stay in backups and with our analytics provider for the periods in the Privacy policy. Deletion can’t be undone.

We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or harms others. We’ll email you unless that would be unsafe or unlawful. Reply to that email or write to privacy@moreplz.com to ask us to look again.

These sections survive the end of your account: Your content, Restaurant info and Google Maps, Copyright, No warranties, Liability and indemnity, The usual, and Law and disputes.

8 No warranties

more plz is provided “as is” and “as available.” We don’t promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that a recommendation will be a great meal. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

9 Liability and indemnity

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to $100. None of this limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence or breaking the law, or any right California law doesn’t let you give up.

To the extent the law allows, you’ll cover third-party claims caused by your content or by your breaking these terms or the law. You never cover claims caused by our own conduct.

10 The usual

  • Severability. If a part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy policy are the whole agreement between us.
  • No waiver. If we don’t enforce something once, we haven’t given it up.
  • Assignment. You can’t transfer your account. We may transfer these terms with the service.

11 Law and disputes

California law governs these terms. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in San Francisco, California. Either of us may use small claims court. There’s no arbitration and no class action waiver.

12 Notice to California users

Under California Civil Code section 1789.3, you may report complaints to the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs by mail at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
